Royal Caribbean is the cruise line I recommend most often to families and to anyone who wants plenty to do. Their ships are packed with activities such as pools, shows, water slides, rock-climbing walls and a wide range of dining, so there’s something for every age in your group. Their private island, Perfect Day at CocoCay, is a favorite stop on many Bahamas and Caribbean sailings.
Finding the Right Royal Caribbean Ship
With so many ships and itineraries to choose from, picking the right one can feel overwhelming. That’s where I come in. I’ll ask how you like to spend your days, who’s traveling with you and what your budget looks like. Then I’ll narrow down the ships, the stateroom categories and the sailing dates that actually make sense, and lay out your options clearly so you can compare them. Royal Caribbean also sails from Galveston, which is a convenient drive-to departure for Texans.

Royal Caribbean’s Private Island
Your Private Island Day
Royal Caribbean’s private island in The Bahamas. Thrill Waterpark is home to Daredevil’s Peak, a 135-foot slide billed as the tallest waterslide in the Caribbean, and Hideaway Beach is an adults-only (18+) beach club. Both need a day pass, at an extra cost.
New in Nassau: Royal Caribbean’s first Royal Beach Club opened December 23, 2025, with two beaches, three pools and an all-inclusive day pass for guests sailing to Nassau.
Royal Caribbean has suspended calls at Labadee, its private destination in Haiti, through the rest of 2026. I’ll confirm the current status for your sailing.
Names and status checked on royalcaribbean.com, October 2026. Private-destination calls depend on your ship and itinerary; I’ll confirm them in your quote. Photos: Wikimedia Commons, see Photo Credits.
