Gatlinburg & Great Smoky Mountains Getaways
A mountain town at the doorstep of the Great Smoky Mountains.
Gatlinburg sits right at the edge of Great Smoky Mountains National Park, so you can spend the morning on a mountain trail and the evening strolling the shops and restaurants along the Parkway. It’s a favorite for families, couples and multi-generational trips, especially in fall, when the ridges turn red and gold.
In the park, drive the Cades Cove loop to see historic cabins and churches and, often, deer and other wildlife, or head up Newfound Gap Road for big mountain views. The National Park Service doesn’t charge an entrance fee for the Smokies, but a parking tag is required for any vehicle parked for more than 15 minutes. In town, the Gatlinburg SkyLift Park takes you up for a view over the mountains.
Many visitors love staying in a mountain cabin with a hot tub and a view, while others prefer a hotel within walking distance of downtown. I’ll help you choose the right spot and plan your days.
